INTERTANKO is a membership organisation that represents the interests of independent tanker owners around the world covering all aspects of their operations, safety, security and environmental issues.

A need has been identified for a new position in the organisation for a Commercial & Markets Manager with particular focus on the gas and oil sectors. This role will be based in the London office.

We are looking for an industry professional with a strong commercial background in the gas and oil sector and an in-depth understanding of contracts and operations relating to the shipment of gas and oil cargoes. Using this knowledge you will be responsible for working with the association's ship owner members, associates and other stakeholders, identifying and addressing documentary and commercial issues and the contractual and financial implications of changing regulations and policies.

You would be involved in the work of various committees focusing on gas tanker operations, documentary issues, Worldscale and markets to name just a few, aiming to identify ways INTERTANKO can serve and assist its members. Your remit would also include compiling information on and liaising with members, charterers, traders, ship builders etc. to identify opportunities for improvements in the way business is done, cost savings and the development of best practice. You will interact with members offering support and information as well as answering specific questions. This role will be working alongside the existing technical roles within INTERTANKO to expand the secretariat's knowledge base and allow the organisation to refine its services to the membership. Some international travel to engage with members and other stakeholders will be required.

You are likely to be working for a shipowner as commercial operator or charterer. Commercial gas shipping experience is essential.
